Interior
It’s difficult to exaggerate just how well-built the New BMW M4 2024 cabin is. The fact that the interior design and craftsmanship pay tribute to classic BMW cabins speaks volumes about the caliber of the vehicle. The 12.3-inch display behind the leather-wrapped steering wheel offers driver information, while the 12.3-inch touch screen acts as the vehicle’s entertainment system.
Instead of the imitation SensaTec leather seen on the majority of versions, the M50i uses real Vernasca leather. Exclusive to the Black Vermilion are the glass controls and black and red interior decorations. The soft and supportive seats make it easy to create a welcome and pleasant ambiance in any of the models. It’s one of several high-tech options offered on the M4, which includes heated seats as standard equipment on all trims.
Engine
As for the basic model, it is powered by a 3.0-liter turbo-six that is capable of putting out 335 horsepower and 331 foot-pounds of torque. It has an eight-speed automatic gearbox and a 48-volt mild-hybrid electric powertrain, much like the rest of the series. Aside from the fact that output is shared across the two axles, there are no other differences between the two models.
Both the xDrive40i and the Black Vermilion have identical drivetrains. Their high-revving nature makes the 40i X5s more challenging to drive, even if they can accelerate rapidly and put out a lot of power. All-wheel-drive M50i vehicles employ a comparable V8 engine to that found in M5 and M4 models, such as BMW’s M6.
