It’s one of several high-tech options offered on the M4, which includes heated seats as standard equipment on all trims.
As for the basic model, it is powered by a 3.0-liter turbo-six that is capable of putting out 335 horsepower and 331 foot-pounds of torque. It has an eight-speed automatic gearbox and a 48-volt mild-hybrid electric powertrain, much like the rest of the series. Aside from the fact that output is shared across the two axles, there are no other differences between the two models.
Both the xDrive40i and the Black Vermilion have identical drivetrains. All-wheel-drive M50i vehicles employ a comparable V8 engine to that found in M5 and M4 models, such as BMW’s M6.

It will cost $59,400 before taxes and fees for the New BMW M4 2024 series’ sDrive40i variant in 2024. At $61,700 in U.S. dollars, the AWD xDrive40i model is the most expensive. Additionally, there are no extra costs or rebates associated with the xDrive45e hybrid model. The xDrive40i-based M4 Black Vermilion costs $82,300 less than the fastest M4 M50i, which costs $82,800 more. The xDrive45e’s federal tax credit is $7,500.
